Unions need young workers and young workers need unions.

The ITF and all its affiliated unions have committed to organise young workers. This includes the creation of dedicated youth structures where young trade unionists can develop their skills and confidence and provide leadership on the pressing issues faced by our labour movement.

Making space for young workers starts with making time for their voices to be heard.

We know that youth are the experts in their own experiences. To honour and uplift that expertise, we have launched a digital storytelling programme, in collaboration with The Public, to support young transport workers in sharing their knowledge and expertise.

Storytelling is not just a way of sharing our experiences; it is a form of activism. Compelling stories can help fellow young workers and union leaders understand how we can carry this work forward and overcome the challenges we are facing.
